Easy, get colorful! I'll explain. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love two things: The 80s and the color black. I don't veer very often from an all black ensemble. Don't get me wrong, I love color but there is something about black that has always made me feel comfortable. Maybe i'm attracted to its sleekness or more importantly its slimming affect. Honestly, black will always play a lead role in my closet regardless of mood, trend or season because it carries with it a sense of ease and chill. It's like that cosmopolitan friend that fits in everywhere they go.
If we go back just a little over a year ago and picture that one girl walking down the street with an elaborate embroidered piece, let’s say a souvenir jacket we would have considered that fashion forward. Little did we know that brands would give us a healthy dose of bedazzling, airbrushing, and colors just a year later. These design styles coupled with the ubiquitous DIY pieces are brought to you by brand collaboration with underground street artists. Not only are they playing a role in a single piece but make up the flare in all parts of an outfit. Mixing and smashing these mediums together is the new norm. It’s no longer one extravagant piece that makes the outfit, it’s what I call Stynergy (Style + Synergy), where the whole look is greater than the sum of each part.
