Nothing says minimalism better than monochrome and angles. And nothing says angles better than a structured trouser, an asymmetric top in front of a piece of geometric art.
For the past couple of seasons, sharp angels have played a huge roll on the runway. From the boxy gender neutral suits of Balenciaga to denim jackets with the pointed shoulders of Vetements to the volume and exaggerated shapes of Rei Kuwakubo’s Comme des Garcon playing around with shapes is a great way to take seemingly classic staple pieces and adding some edgy form.
For my look I chose a voluminous ruched sleeve to create some disorder sitting off the shoulder. My structured trouser from TOBI brings in the balance with an exposed zipper at center waist with a metal circular pull creating symmetry. My deconstructed bow heels add texture and neutral coloring to the simplicity of the look. The lesson here is that angles aren’t reserved just for the face and camera but for clothing to. The good thing about structured garments is that every side is their good side.
Hope you enjoy:) -xx Slightly Flirty c/o Gina Papa
