I thought I would take it back to the 60s and 70s since it’s been in the 80s and 90s out in NYC. I wanted to channel the style of that time as classic chic took center stage from the runway to the white house, from Bridgette Bardot to Jackie O. Since work has got me in NYC for the Summer I took time to close my eyes and envision myself flying across the Atlantic to the South of France right along the Mediterranean.
As I prepare to take a sip from my bubbly I hear someone screaming my name at their top of their lungs. I’m tugged at aggressively nearly dropping my drink, when I turn to realize that it’s my daughter asking for apple juice in my kitchen, and my drink is actually coffee splashing itself on my PJs. A girl can dream can’t she?
And dream I did for this 60s look. The backdrop was perfect for the ensemble! Everything stemmed from the jumpsuit. Slipping it on in front of the mirror made me notice that I totally needed a Choucroute hairstyle. Once that happened it was over. I jetted to Up & Out for my special do. Now all I needed was the headscarf and a pair of Jackie O lenses to compliment my hair. I completed the look with a pair of red patent leather candy apple mules. I threw in the bag because I really did want it to bring the beach to me. It never came but I did get my flute of bubbly after the shoot. So all was well.
